You may have heard about this already, but me (and a couple of others) have been talking about how cool it would be to put on a 'movie festival' this year at school (and, by movie, I mean anything from a short-film to the video you recorded in 5th grade of yourself dancing around to "hit me baby one more time" for half an hour.)
(If you actually submit a video of yourself dancing to "Hit Me Baby One More Time" for more than 3 minutes, you deserve death.)
(A very painful death, preferably with bears and rabid geese.)
... Anyway, I was thinking we could have teachers and students judge, and whoever 'wins' can get some sort of prize. If we charge money for movie submissions, and money at the door to the festival, we could end up making a pretty big profit - something that the school could probably use.
I don't know exactly how we'd go about showing the films - I'm really not very smart - but I'm sure I could talk to someone intelligent and figure out how it works. If we put the show on later in the year, we'd have more time for everyone to make their movies and to work out all the technological details.
If you're interested in this idea, especially if you want to make a film or know someone who might want to, leave a comment to this entry.
